STANDING OVATIONS FOR 'FOR THE FALLEN' IN THE U.S.

On the weekend of Veteran's Day FOR THE FALLEN, a tribute to the war dead in Iraq and Afghanistan, was warmly received by public and critics alike at packed performances in Chicago and Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

At its World Premiere on November 9th, the first of five concerts given by the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra under their Music Director Stephen Gunzenhauser, it was hailed by the Lancaster Sunday News as "an important piece of music for our time". The Lancaster New Era noted that the composer "received a standing ovation when the last notes of his tribute died away", and that " it was impossible for the audience to not be affected by the passionate vision and the solitary viola that spoke of the utter anguish of another life lost."

Two days later For the Fallen was played by the highly respected Chicago Chamber Orchestra in Preston Bradley Hall at the Chicago Cultural Center under the baton of Music Director Designate Edward Benyas. Again the audience rose to its feet to express their appreciation, a moving experience for all present.
